Our 5-month-old granddaughter was diagnosed with a large growth on one of her kidneys. The pediatrician said she needed immediate surgery and sent her to Kansas City Children's Hospital. He was very concerned the growth would rupture before it could be removed. Thanks to God, it did not. The growth and her kidney were removed. Our daughter, her husband, and both sets of grandparents were able to be at the hospital. We supported each other through the uncertainty, fear, and helplessness of watching our little girl experience so much trauma. This scripture was so comforting as we cried out to God. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 Prayer is powerful. Turning to God for help in our struggles provides comfort and strengthens our faith. We knew all we could do was turn it over to Him. The growth was cancerous, but the surgery removed all cancer. Our granddaughter didn't require any other treatment. I believe this was a miracle. Six years later she is cancer free! He is Caring. In times of disease and distress, it is natural to feel overwhelmed, scared, and alone. However, as believers, we find solace and hope in the unfailing care of our Heavenly Father. His love for us knows no bounds, and even in the midst of trials, we can be thankful for His unwavering concern for our well-being. Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV), "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." In these simple yet profound words, we find comfort and assurance that God is not distant or indifferent to our struggles. He cares deeply about every aspect of our lives, including our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. In the face of disease, we can lean on His promises, knowing that His caring hands are at work. When we encounter sickness, it is easy to slip into despair and isolation, feeling that no one truly understands our pain. However, the truth of God's caring presence shatters this illusion of loneliness. Psalm 34:18 (NIV) proclaims, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." In our most vulnerable moments, God draws near to us, offering comfort and strength. We are not alone in our struggles; He walks beside us every step of the way. Moreover, Romans 8:28 (NIV) reminds us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Even amidst the hardships of disease, God is working behind the scenes, orchestrating events for our ultimate good. He can bring about healing, growth, and spiritual transformation through our trials. We may not always understand His ways, but we can trust that His plan is perfect, and He is working all things together for our benefit. In prayer, let us pour out our anxieties and concerns, finding peace in His presence. When loneliness tries to overwhelm us, let us remember that He is by our side, offering comfort and solace. And when we cannot see the way forward, let us trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He is working all things together for our good. In God's care, we find hope, strength, and the assurance that we are never alone in the journey of life. So, let us hold fast to His promises, knowing that His love and care will sustain us through every trial and bring us to a place of restoration and wholeness. Comments are closed.
