Sandee, a lady in our church, has trusted God through personal storms, but things in her life changed in the blink of an eye when her twenty-year-old son experienced a heart attack in 2018. “We went from a busy, eventful summer full of exciting adventures and experiences to a chaotic summer of beeping hospital monitors, endless procedures and tests, sleepless nights, and anxiety about the future.” How things change so quickly. Through the experience, her husband and other son were brought closer as they cared for Eli in the hospitals and clinics. Test after test created anxiousness, but they came together as a family to walk through this season. Sandee said, “We experienced the strain of a full schedule of appointments with specialists, consultants, and therapists, both near and far. And, of course, there was the stress of all the related experiences.” Sandee watched her husband and son care for Eli, and she “marveled and praised God in these moments.” One night, two weeks after Eli finally came home, Sandee was awakened from a deep sleep. The words, “Go to Eli,” entered her mind. As she flipped on the hall light, Eli burst from his room crying deep sobs, breathing heavily, wild-eyed, and in complete terror. She grabbed him and held him on the sofa, and she prayed. She prayed for God’s protection, comfort, and peace. As the panic subsided there was an unsurpassable peace. Later, Eli asked how she knew. The only answer Sandee had was, “God woke me up.” Throughout the entire season, Sandee saw God’s hand at work. A close friend came to the ER unexpectedly at a moment of intense anxiousness. They received an unexpected medical bill, but a financial gift followed that amounted to $3.00 more than the bill. Food arrived when the cupboards were empty. Sandee says, “Yes, indeed, He was near and revealed Himself in a mighty way! And I am blessed to tell the story whenever I can.” Sandee shares, “All those Scriptures which I have heard all my life such as Ephesians 3:20, Philippians 4:13, Psalm 46:1, and so many others– they are now alive to me, His promises are true. He is faithful and merciful always! I trusted before. Now I KNOW it in my heart.” God is ABLE. In the depths of life's trials and tribulations, it's easy to lose sight of God's sovereignty and power. We often find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and burdened by the weight of our circumstances. Yet, even in the midst of our confusion and pain, God remains unshakably able. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us of this profound truth: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." When we encounter seasons of hardship, it's natural to question if God is truly in control. We may wonder why He allows us to endure such difficulties. In the tapestry of our lives, God is able to weave even the most confusing and painful threads into something beautiful. He has the power to bring forth healing from brokenness, strength from weakness, and victory from defeat. Our finite minds struggle to grasp the magnitude of God's ability, but our hearts can cling to the promise that He is able. During those seasons when our faith is tested, we must hold fast to the truth that God's power is not limited by our circumstances. He is not intimidated by our problems or the depth of our pain. He is able to overcome any obstacle and bring forth blessings beyond our wildest imaginations. When we surrender our burdens and trust in God's ability, we open ourselves up to experience His immeasurable goodness. We invite Him to work in and through us, allowing His power to manifest in our lives. As we align our will with His, we find strength, peace, and hope in the midst of the storm. So, dear friend, do not be discouraged by the challenges that surround you. Instead, fix your gaze upon the One who is able. In Him, you will find unfailing love, unwavering strength, and limitless possibilities. Let us hold onto the truth of Ephesians 3:20 and walk forward with faith, knowing that our God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
