On Monday, we read Gage’s thoughts about the chaos in his and Ashlee’s lives. Today, Ashlee shares her chaos experience. In April of 2022, we found out I was pregnant with our baby boy, Parker, after struggling with infertility and loss for two years and through two previous miscarriages. In May, we went in for our second ultrasound and heard the words, “The baby no longer has a heartbeat.” At ten weeks, we had to say goodbye to our baby. A month later, my pops (grandfather) was killed in a tragic accident in his shop and I was the one who found him. There was so much trauma and anxiety to process while helping to plan the funeral and grieving with my family. In a lot of ways, these events brought me closer to family and friends, and especially to my husband. We have been through so much in our time together and these trials have forced me to lean on him in our marriage. Still, sometimes I felt like I struggled to connect with people because of all of the things going on and the feelings I felt. During that time in my life, I felt closer to God than I ever have before. I felt like the only way I would make it through was to depend on Him for strength and peace. Through the tragedy and the unknown, I was stripped of all control and I had to say, “I will praise You no matter what comes my way.” Through these experiences, I have learned that God has a better plan for my life than I will ever understand. I saw things that He orchestrated during the worst days of my life, that only He could do. During the hard times when I was questioning, “Why would God allow something like this to happen,” my mom reminded me of this verse: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NIV There are still many things I don’t understand, and I am having to learn to trust God even when the circumstances lead me in a different direction. Each day, I learn more about trusting Him through the chaos. He is a WAYMAKER. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." There are moments and even seasons in life when we feel lost, uncertain, and overwhelmed. We question the path ahead, wonder if our prayers are being heard, and doubt whether God is working on our behalf. However, in those moments, we must remember that our Heavenly Father is a waymaker, even when we don't see it. He is working, even when we don't feel it. Our faith is built on the assurance that God is always present, active, and faithful. Trusting God requires us to relinquish our desire for immediate answers and embrace His perfect timing. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." When we place our trust in God, surrendering our limited understanding, He leads us on a straight path, even when the way seems unclear. As we learn to truly trust Him, we must immerse ourselves in God's Word, which serves as a lamp to guide our steps (Psalm 119:105). The more we study Scripture, the more we discover the faithfulness of God throughout history. From Abraham's journey of faith to Joseph's trials and Daniel's faith in the lion's den, we witness the waymaker at work, orchestrating circumstances for His divine purposes. However, trust is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is an intimate relationship. Each day, as we spend time in prayer and communion with God, we develop a deeper understanding of His character and His ways. Romans 8:28 reassures us, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." God's love and purpose for our lives remain steadfast, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties. Learning to trust God is a continuous process, rooted in faith and nurtured by experience. As we look back on our lives, we can see how God's hand has been guiding us all along, even in the midst of our doubts and fears. Let us, therefore, embrace the journey of growing in trust, knowing that He who has been faithful in the past will continue to be faithful in the future. He is the waymaker, the unseen worker, and as we learn to trust Him, our faith will be strengthened, and our lives will be transformed. Comments are closed.
